A Git client for the future — work on multiple branches simultaneously, no stash needed.
In the founder's own words — what this project is, and why it matters.
GitButler is a Git client built on top of a novel 'virtual branches' concept that lets you work on multiple branches simultaneously. Instead of one checkout at a time, you can have several virtual branches active in your working directory at once — drag and drop changes between them, commit selectively, and push independently. It eliminates stashing, rebasing pain, and context-switch overhead. Features include an AI commit message generator, branch lanes UI, GitHub PR integration, and a Tauri-powered desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
