Sync Postgres into local apps in real-time — the local-first sync layer for modern stacks.
In the founder's own words — what this project is, and why it matters.
Electric is the local-first sync engine for Postgres. It syncs data from your Postgres database into local apps and edge workers in real-time, enabling instant reads, optimistic writes, and offline support without building custom sync logic. The Electric sync layer exposes a simple HTTP API (the 'Shape' API) that streams partial replication of Postgres tables to any client — React, Vue, mobile, or Cloudflare Workers. Pair it with a local SQLite or PGlite database for full offline capability. Used to build collaborative tools, multiplayer games, and real-time dashboards.
